Outreach Activities – Academic Visits

We offer academic visits to your schools and colleges, to give subject talks or arrange workshops and portfolio reviews. The content of the visit could also be discussed and tailored to your needs.

Visit 1

Title: Introduction to Architecture and the Built Environment

Participating programmes:

  • Architecture
  • Architecture Science and Technology
  • Construction Science and Management

Duration: 30 mins to 1 hour

A general introduction to the three programmes we offer, and what to expect when studying those programmes in our school.

Suitable for: key stage 3, 4, A-level, BTEC students

Visit 2

Title: Architecture in a Box

Participating programmes:

  • Architecture
  • Architecture Science and Technology
  • Construction Science and Management

Duration: 1 – 2 hours

This visit will hand-pick a range of fun and engaging activities, props, tools that fit in a box to be carried to your institution. The activities can be tailored to the target age group and subject area (if applicable). The workshop is delivered by both academics and our undergraduate students.

Visit 3

Title: Portfolio Clinic

Participating programmes:

  • Architecture

Duration: 1 – 1.5 hours

During this visit, academic/s will review pupils’ portfolios should they aim to apply for the architecture programme. We will give advice and tips on how to improve their portfolios as well as show examples of portfolios from our students.

Suitable for: A-level, BTEC students

This activity can also be delivered online.
